An Old Acquaintance Sent Me A Message A Poem

It was a blast from the past
An acquaintance sent
a message
He told me he was moving
Away from New England
Moving to the Southwest.
He needed a change of scenery
He had lived there before
And the weather is better
Perhaps the women too
Will be more amenable?

I wished him well.
He is easy on the eyes
But his ego has some flaws.
I didn't tell him
It was a guarded thought.
I don't really know
How he is in a relationship
Never having been
In one with him
But some comments
He has made
Have made me wonder
If he would be too judgmental
He might be too much
Of a perfectionist
For any woman
To measure
But I could be wrong
And he could be
A real pushover.
Alas, I was not ever
Going to find out.
